Hello everyone! I have a question about my skill tree by arcane mage.

Let me something exlain. I don’t use by my skill tree a Presense of Mind, so I skipped talent there by Arcane Flows. I use sometimes a pvp at must (free to all zones) that’s way I need Slow skill to have. I tryed maximase my damage. I start my combo with Arcane Power(20% more dmg), then Frostbolt, then Arcane Blast, if I got no buff(for arcane missles) I do Arcane Barrage(both skills have 40% to cast this arcane missles buff), so I repeat this combo so long, as I get Missle Barrage buff. Frostbolt has only 20% possibilty, but still. Then ofcourse Arcane Missles for free, no mana needed+very quick attack. If I’m lucky Frostbolt do crit with 150% crit dmg power(Spell Power talent+Ice Shards talent), and chill target freez(15% chance to this) on my combo + with 20% possibility on Arcane Barrage buff.

1. Arcane Power(20% more dmg for all spells)
2. Frostbolt(20% for free Arcane Missles buff), if crit, then 150% crit dmg. Slowed targed and 15% freezed.
3. If not, then: Arcane Blast(40% for free Arcane Missles)
4. (Still no buff?) then: Arcane Barrage(40% for free Arcane Missles)
5. (If no luck on buff, then repeat combo, in qucik life mobs use only Arcane Barrage, no cast needed)
So if buff trigger finally use Arcane Missle for free+very quick.

Mobs die quick, more quicker then by fire mage. I like arcane mage because of dmg and less mana need.

That is pretty much the spec you want, the guides are in place for a reason, it's to maximize PvE damage, doing anything other than that reduces your DPS potential in Dungeon/Raid situations.

Having your own hybrid spec can also effect your invites to raids (any good raid leader checks these things), or at the very least will raise questions as to why your DPS is subpar.

If your doing stuff where you go against other players, then your 2nd spec should be a PvP one.

If your just tinkering around and not really raiding on that toon, then it doesn't really matter...

Most of these sites that post builds have been around for years, and have been the same builds I have used for my time playing in retail LK and several private servers.

Ok, thank you for replay, but I have only one question. Why it’s uded Frost Warding(ice tree)skill tree and not Ice Schards? Ice Warding add ONLY for fire or ice dmg a 30% that dmg will be converted in to mana insted of dmg, but Ice Schards increase your critical damage to 100% more! So? It’s better talent if you spam Blizzard by mobs, you gain 100% more dps by every crit you did. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
This is only this what I can’t undersand.
