Is there a technical reason for recent event with gear?

Can this be prevented from occurring again?

Was this as an internal or outside event?

If I "repair" can I be assured it wont occur again?

I see that in last few days the Songflowers were removed from the mall.

These were really a great benefit for leveling low levels. Can these be re-implemented?
