Gems are situational and depend on the build and equipment. They are used to reach the required stat caps.

Gameplay & Rotations
Retribution Paladin does not have a solid combination of skills, though it is advised to use this priority list below…

Hammer of Wrath > Judgement > Crusader Strike > Divine Storm > Consecration > Exorcism > Holy Wrath

Rest of the time use any skill which comes out of cooldown. Use Judgement depending on the situation.

As it was replied to "your" arms warrior guide as well, nice copy paste of useless gnarly guides and mesarchoo bis lists that are completely wrong for the mania server.

On topic of retpal i can tell you that the gear is wrong and glyphs as well, due to the lower expertise cap on mania you can change the gear. Even without the expertise difference the gearlist has some flaws.

Copy pasting gnarly guides etc isn't really being helpfull to the community, it's the opposite.

Pro tip: Don't make a guide if you're unfit to create one.
Aristo is a clown, and the glyphs are indeed correct for almost every raid tier, except for ICC.
The difference being quite clearly the decision of whether to take exo or cons.
While gems are generally situational, i've never really been put in a situation where i've had to glyph anything other than strength, and the only case of having to utilize other gems, i imagine would be that you're not even raid ready. The emblem system has many flaws but it offers easy access to icc due to the 30% buff, and if you get the right pieces, you should never be in the position where you'd need to use a non +20str gem, and if you are then the mistake is not in the gemming but gearing.
Regarding the gear, the leather belt and agi cloak will NEVER be better than the str cloak and plate one, of course the dps difference is somewhat minimal.
The rotation is wrong as well, the only time CS would be prio'd over DS is if you don't have T10, and judgement>HoW. ALWAYS.

I've seen people state that things are "different" on mania, but never backing it up with any sort of numbers. What specifically is different here? Do certain skills scale differently (ie. have different formulas)? With this topic specifically, why is the BIS list different than it would have been in retail? Looking for answers with numbers, please
